Raymond Xu, MD, is a urologist with Associated Urologists of North Carolina, practicing out of the Cary and Clayton offices.

Dr. Xu was born and raised in New York City, New York. He earned his undergraduate degree in Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego, before receiving his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine. He completed his urology residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Dr. Xu is a prolific researcher with dozens of peer-reviewed publications and numerous podium and poster presentations at national meetings, including the American Urological Association (AUA) and the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU). His study on the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company’s impact on urogynecologic medication costs drew national attention, earning him a feature interview with Urology Times and an invitation to speak on a cost-of-care panel at the AUA.

Dr. Xu specializes in treatments for kidney stone disease, robotic-assisted surgery for both benign and malignant urologic conditions, minimally invasive surgery treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prosthetic surgery for erectile dysfunction, male & female incontinence procedures, as well as treatment for overactive bladder.

Dr. Xu takes the time to get to know each patient and develop a lasting relationship built on trust. He’s committed to practicing evidence-based, up-to-date medicine, with the goal of improving quality of life for everyone who walks through the door.
Outside of work, Dr. Xu is a lifelong basketball player and NBA fan who spends his free time staying active and traveling with his wife, Alison.
