Dr. Mathew Fakhoury is a board-certified urologist born and raised in Westchester County, New York. He earned his medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) and completed his urology residency at the Cook County Health and Hospital System in Chicago.

Dr. Fakhoury specializes in men’s health, sexual function, kidney stone surgery, BPH procedures, and urinary incontinence. He is recognized as a Designated Center of Excellence for both Penile Implants and BPH Procedures, reflecting his commitment to advanced surgical techniques and exceptional patient outcomes.

He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and presented his research at numerous national meetings. His dedication to innovation and clinical excellence has earned multiple awards, including the LUGPA Resident Clinical Innovation Award, first place in the Charles Huggins Resident Contest, and first place at the Cook County Health and Hospital System Board of Directors Research Symposium—all firsts for his residency program.

Dr. Fakhoury is an active member of the American Urological Association (AUA), Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA), LUGPA Forward, and the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons (SUPS). Through his continued involvement in research, education, and patient care, he remains dedicated to advancing the field of urology and providing personalized, compassionate care.

After years of specialized training, Dr. Fakhoury is proud to return to his hometown to care for the people of New York. His guiding philosophy is simple:to treat every patient as he would want his own loved ones to be treated.

  • Developed and implemented a Foley catheter management algorithm to improve adherence to best practices for catheter use across two major hospital systems (Advocate Christ Medical Center – 1,100 beds; Cook County Health and Hospital System – 600 beds).
  • Spearheaded the adoption of the algorithm as an official institutional guideline to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs).
  • Created and delivered an educational program including a comprehensive PowerPoint curriculum and hands-on training sessions for nursing staff, emergency medicine residents, and attending physicians.
  • Focused on improving patient safety, reducing traumatic Foley placements, lowering CAUTI rates, and enhancing cost efficiency in catheter utilization.
