January 2021: Urology Austin and Boston Scientific are pleased to announce that Loren Jones has been awarded the GreenLight Center of Excellence designation! This designation recognizes his high degree of experience with GreenLight Laser Therapy and commitment to delivering effective, long-lasting therapy to men suffering from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Dr. Loren Jones is a board certified urologist with Urology Austin

Dr. Loren Jones, MD, received his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He then attended the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Jones completed a six-year urology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and is board certified in urology. He has been in practice with Urology Austin since 2012 and currently serves at the Chief of Urology at Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital. 

Dr. Jones has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery. He treats a wide variety of urologic conditions using diverse techniques, including percutaneous procedures for kidney stone extraction, laparoscopy, and advanced GreenLight laser, Urolift, and iTind surgery for enlarged prostate. He is particularly recognized for his expertise in complex kidney stone extraction, specializing in cutting-edge tubeless outpatient percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). Additionally, Dr. Jones is skilled in advanced microsurgical procedures for male infertility patients. 

Dr. Jones sees both male and female patients and treats all general urologic conditions, including complex kidney stones, enlarged prostate (BPH), urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and low testosterone. He also diagnoses and treats patients with bladder cancer, kidney cancer, testicular cancer, and prostate cancer.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Jones has published a book chapter on the treatment of male infertility and has contributed to peer-reviewed journals. He has presented on numerous urologic topics at regional, national, and international meetings.
