Dr. Ross Liao joined The Urology Group in 2026. He was born and raised in a suburb of Dallas, Texas. He graduated summa cum laude from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He subsequently obtained his Doctorate of Medicine with clinical and academic honors from the renowned Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He completed his urology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Glickman Urologic and Kidney Institute, one of the world’s most well-regarded urology departments. Dr. Liao has also been active academically and has published multiple peer-reviewed scientific publications in respected urologic journals including the Journal of Urology.

Dr. Liao is deeply committed to providing his patients with the best urologic care. He strives to treat his patients like his own family. He strongly believes that exceptional medical care begins with listening. He is invested in building trusting relationships with his patients by taking the time to understand their concerns, explaining diagnoses and treatment options clearly, and ensuring all patients feel well-informed in every decision they make regarding their care.

Dr. Liao’s clinical interests span the entire breadth of urology with a special interest in minimally invasive robotic surgery, urologic oncology, and urinary tract reconstruction. He also possesses expertise in the medical and surgical management of most benign urologic conditions including kidney and bladder stone disease, benign prostatic enlargement, male and female urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and other urologic conditions. He is also able to communicate with Mandarin Chinese-speaking patients.

Dr. Liao lives in Northern Virginia with his amazing wife and son. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis and golf.
