Dr. John M. Mai, MD is a urologic surgeon who grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with a double major in biology and psychology. He then received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha while on multiple scholarships.

He completed two years of general surgery and four years of urologic surgery training at Temple University Hospital and Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During his time in Philadelphia he performed numerous robotic (daVinci) and minimally invasive cancer surgeries involving the prostate, kidney, ureter, and bladder. He also has extensive training in postprostatectomy male incontinence surgery and all current treatments for erectile dysfunction, including insertion of inflatable penile prosthetic devices. Dr. Mai also has a strong in interest in the treatment of BPH, Men’s health issues such as low testosterone, and Elective Sterilization (Vasectomy).

Following his residency, Dr. Mai moved to the Chicago area where he practiced for five years. He enjoys living in sunny Scottsdale and looks forward to growing his Urologic practice by providing excellent care. In his free time he enjoys cycling, golfing, skiing, running, hiking and traveling.
