I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and nurse educator with over 15 years of experience in emergency nursing. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez in 2008 and relocated to New York that same year, where I spent my entire nursing career, completing an Emergency Department fellowship and beginning my professional journey within the Mount Sinai Health System. Throughout my time in the Emergency Department, I held multiple leadership and clinical roles, including charge nurse, mentor, and educator for new graduate nurses, and served as a Clinical Practice Specialist in the clinical setting focused on staff development, evidence-based practice, education to new grads, and worked hand-in-hand with providers. In 2023, I completed my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Molloy University, where I was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and obtained board certification through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. I gained experience as a Nurse Practitioner at an IV therapy clinic, providing wellness treatments. In 2024, I relocated to Austin and currently serve as a faculty professor at Fairfield University, teaching undergraduate nursing students. I am passionate about mentoring future nurses, promoting patient safety, and advancing quality improvement in clinical practice, with a special interest in men’s health and helping individuals understand the disease process, prevent it, improve their health, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Outside of my professional role, I enjoy traveling, exploring new foods as a self-proclaimed foodie, and spending time outdoors, including the beach, hiking, and running; I have completed multiple half marathons, including races in Austin and New York City. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, value and love family time above all, and enjoy spending time with my Siberian Husky, Atlas.
